Good with computer hardware, have assembled hundreds of systems. Triple booter, the M1 Mac is mostly my daily driver since it’s rock solid , have some LTSC Windows rigs that are surprisingly low maintenance, use for light gaming and for when bare metal windows apps as a fallback when my docker / Linux skills are exceeded.

Attempting to becone progressively proficient in home server / Linux (software) side. Mostly use UnRaid so I can leave the training wheels on. Excited to be able to have ZFS arrays on UnRaid now, so attempting to better understand this whole COW block storage thing.

Have wrangled a 10Gen Zeon QNAP rig into a surprisingly nice compact high volume UnRaid server. Pricey way to go vs a scratch home build but integrated 10Gbe and Thunderbolt plus a 16x slot for GPU and of course a backplane with great cooling, has quicksync, etc.

I’m very interested in being an early adopter of the AV1 codec - have an Intel A770 GPU (very happy - for gaming as well as encoding).
