I tried setting it up with Pimox GitHub - pimox/pimox7: Proxmox V7 for Raspberry Pi.
The setup worked all good, when it finished it said to reboot then I’ll be able to access it from the web.
Now I can’t ssh into the Pi nor connect with the Proxmox through the web.
The IP address is not up as I scanned multiple times.
I cant ping it from another device in the same network.
When I try to login from the Pi, it keeps typing @^@^ nonstop.
When I try to ssh it doesnt do anything then it says connection timed out.
I tried the whole setup from the beginning 2 times already
Good morning,
How much experience do you have with Raspberry Pi? I ask because I don’t want to insult you with suggestions that are obvious to someone familiar with how the Pis work. (But I don’t know so I’ll go ahead with the suggestions.)
I glanced at the instructions and it seems that the process is to install either RpiOS (official Raspberry Pi OS) or Debian (unofficial pure Debian release for Raspberry Pis.) I use both. When you say “The setup worked all good” I presume you rebooted and the OS came up working OK. The first reboot is important because the root partition is resized at that point to use available space on the boot device. The instructions could be clearer about this step.
The other thing I saw is that the Debian instructions call for using Bullseye (Debian 11) and not the most current stable version (Bookworm.) You might consider trying a Bullseye version of either RpiOS or Debian.
When you say you see ^@^@
at the terminal, do you mean at a monitor connected to the HDMI output? The ^@
is a null character - a binary zero - and this would indicate the installation is badly broken.
I have zero experience with Proxmox. I administer my servers at the CLI and use tools such as Ansible to configure them. If you think that might be a path you would like to try, I can offer suggestions in that direction.
HTH,
The problem after all was with the DNS Servers with my ISP.
Thank you for you help, I appreciate it!
Glad you got it solved.
