If I am importing, my KVM virtual machines onto a new root installation, are the snapshots that were taken by Sanoid under the old installation still good? I am restarting regular snapshots, I just wasn’t sure if older snapshots were worth keeping or not.
Yep. Snapshot is a snapshot. Doesn’t matter what os was running at the time the snap was taken.
